Frankenstein by Mary Shelley (the original – accept no substitutes).
The Simon & Schuster Enriched Classic version has been ordered for the group, mostly due to its $4.95 price tag. But any unabridged edition will do…
Halloween Is Almost Here! So, we’ll have the (not-so-scary) Club Officer elections of 3 positions (Voting rules apply – attendance and dues paid). That’s Executive Secretary, Moderator and Alternator… Also, we’ll select the “challenge” ingredient for December’s Dessert Cook-Off.
Plus Roslee Orndorff will be hosting a Halloween Edition of SF CatchPhrase! We’ll put together two teams of four players each to guess Halloween-themed words and pass off the clue wheel before the buzzer sounds.
Finally, the Fall issue of ASFacts will be out (deadline Sunday, October 4).
Newcomers and orderly guests are welcome. Food & Beverages cannot be brought into our new location!

Dead Snow is a 2008 Norwegian goretastic horror comedy from writer/director Tommy Wirkola that is finally blasting its way onto American screens. There’s nothing left to do but break out the chainsaws, the snowmobiles and the anatomy books!
In Norwegian with English Subtitles, Dead Snow is 91 minutes long and rated R. Entertainment Weekly called it, “Cheery, silly, splattery, and respectful of its elders (and betters, particularly Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead)…[a] bloody/cheesy Scandinavian lark.”
The Guild Cinema is located at 3405 Central Ave NE, in the Nob Hill area across from Flying Star Café and Starbuck’s. All seats $7.00, cash only.
