Following Madoka’s rewriting of the universe, Homura now lives in a world where witches are no longer born but despair still manifests itself into creatures known as wraiths, which magical girls continue to fight against. As Homura continues to feel the loneliness that has built up since her seperation from Madoka, something mysterious happens, as Madoka, who shouldn’t exist in this new world, and Sayaka, who had disappeared after exhausting her magical energy, suddenly appear. Behind this mysterious appearance is a new magical girl named Nagisa Momoe and a new being fighting against God’s existence.
