A Very Star Wars Christmas: A Musical Parody
This December 6 and 7, the historic KiMo Theatre presents A Very Star Wars Christmas.
When the evil lord of the dark side, Darth Vader, complains about the overwhelming materialism he is witnessing surrounding Force-mas, Amidala (Queen of the Naboo and ex-wife of Lord Vader? or are they still married? When your sweet, kind, beloved husband becomes the Dark Lord of the Sith, do you get an automatic divorce?) suggests he becomes the director of the Force-mas pageant. Vader accepts, but seems to be unable to inspire the proper holiday spirit? mostly likely due to his strong ties to evil. After his sad little Forcemas fir tree falls flat with pageanters, Yoda arrives to save the day and teach Vader the true meaning of Force-mas.
Performed by an all-local cast with four original songs, this play is full of fun, whimsy, and plenty of wonderfully geeky Star Wars lore; the perfect Christmas play for the whole family.
Directed by Kathleen Miller and Doug Montoya, with music by Casey Marz and lyrics by Doug Montoya, A Very Star Wars Christmas comes to a stage in a galaxy not-so-far-away for two showings — December 6 at 7:00 pm and December 7 at 2:00 pm.
Tickets for this all-ages show start at $8.00. Come early to take pictures with members of the 501st Legion, aka Vader’s First.
The KiMo Theatre is located at 423 Central Avenue NW (corner of Central & 5th).
