SMOFCon 37 – the 2019 convention for folks who run conventions – is in Albuquerque!

“All Left Turns: Making the Right Plans” — Our convention theme takes inspiration from a well known cartoon rabbit who liked to complain about our fair city: “I should have taken that left turn at Albuquerque.”  By taking left turns, we will be making Right Plans. A lot of our programming will emphasize the planning that goes into running a convention.  We will have other programming, including the traditional time where the seated Worldcons and NASFiCs as well as bids for future SMOFCons, Worldcons and NASFiCs will be questioned about their plans.

SMOFCon 37 takes place December 6-8 at the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque Hotel, 330 Tijeras Ave NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102

Programming will begin on Friday with the traditional daytime workshops, and with panels in the afternoon. Workshops will be offered throughout the weekend.

Our plans also include a poster session for seated Worldcons, NASFiCs, Westercons, nearby fan run conventions, and bids for future SMOFCons, Worldcons, NASFiCs, and Westercons on Friday night, and the traditional Fanish Inquistion/Question Time on Saturday night.

We are also planning on having our hospitility suite open as much as possible from Thursday through Sunday.

Supporting Memberships allowing live streaming access to a limited number of panels and workshops, and the option to receive any paper publications available on site, are $15.00 through November 30, 2019.
Con-Suite Only Memberships are $30.00 through November 30 2019.

Room Rates are:  Single and Double: $99.00, Triple: $124.00, Quad: $149.00.
We have complementary WiFi for our hotel guests in and out of our function space. We have also arranged for free self-parking for all hotel guests and convention members.
