Trick Or Treat! Free Comic Event at Don’s Book Store!

On Saturday, October 21, 11:00 am-4:00 pm, Don’s Book Store will be celebrating the Halloween season with their last “pop-up comic book room” of 2023.  This one-day event features free comic books for everyone who stops by, and free books for all kids under 18 years of age.

The pop-up comic book room will feature special guests – Albuquerque comic book artists Mark Fenton (Planet Comics, Jungle Comics) and Andy Kuhn (Firebreather, Mars Attacks: Occupation) – plus vendors such as Ala Jerky, Tarot by Jam, and a Photography Booth. Golden, Silver, Modern Age and CGC comics will be on sale, plus boxes of dollar comics.   There will be treats for those in costume, and book specials in store.

Giving away books to children is a very important service to the staff and owner of Don’s Book Store.

“Each year, we donate over 60,000 books to various programs and facilities, ” says store owner Elizabeth Johnson.  “We also save nearly half of our incoming children’s/YA books to give away during our events.  We would not be able to accomplish such an incredible task without the constant support of you, our wonderful customers. We feel truly honored to be able to contribute to our community in a such an impactful manner.”
