It’s a Big Comic Book Celebration!

Yes, Saturday, May 2, sees a celebration of the annual fannish event, Free Comic Book Day. Several stores throughout Albuquerque will be handing out free comic books and/or offering discounts on various comics, graphic novels, action figures and other materials.

For instance, we know that Astro-Zombies starts their festivities at 10:00 am, including a Sidewalk Sale. They will have Comic Crusaders of NM and Princess Unicorn – cosplayers – on hand. Last year A-Z gave out approximately 10,000 free comics.  Over at Don’s Paperback Books, the store opens at 9:00 am (be an early bird); and the back warehouse will be open along with markdowns of select merchandise.  And Lobo Anime & Comics will have the 1966 Batmobile and the Breaking Bad Winnebago on display, along with a blood drive.

Be sure to check out the action at these known participants – Astro-Zombies, Lobo Anime & Comics, Don’s Paperback Books, Comic Warehouse, Old West Comics, and even Hasting’s.
