Dr. Mark Boslough Speaks on “Astronomical Drama” online 1:30 pm June 27!

Please join us – the Coalition for Excellence in Science and Math Education (CESE) – at 1:30 PM Saturday, June 27, for a YouTube presentation by Dr. Mark Boslough on the “Importance of Astronomical Drama to Humans.”
 
Boslough is an internationally recognized as an expert on multiple aspects of planetary impacts and airbursts.  He received his Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Caltech and joined Sandia National Laboratories in 1983. His impact research is focused on computational modeling of airbursts, their physical effects, and their contribution to the NEO (Near Earth Objects) risk.
Boslough participated in documentary field expeditions to airburst sites including the Libyan Desert of Egypt in 2006, Tunguska in 2008, and Chelyabinsk in 2013. He served on the asteroid mitigation panel for the National Research Council, and coauthored the report Defending Planet Earth that was delivered to Congress in 2010.
