Programming: Holiday Party —
Our 20th Annual Holiday Potluck + Short Holiday-Oriented Silly SF Films.
+ This Year, we’re having a “normal” potluck – and encouraging everyone to bring something to share with 8-16 people. At the moment, we know these dishes are showing up —
Rotisserie chicken (pre-carved), Pulled-pork sandwiches (12 sliders), Stir fry, Meatballs, Charcuterie. Green salad for 8-10 plus 2 dressings, A 2nd Green salad, Mashed sweet potatoes, Stuffing or Corn bread to go with the chicken, Green beans with goat cheese and hazelnuts, Ambrosia, Chips (corn) and salsa, Popcorn, Monster-faced pumpkin treats/muffins, Cake, A 2nd Cake, Lemon braid (essentially a big lemon pastry), and Cookies.
You Must Label your dish with its title, your name and any allergy notices! Please remember that we need to let attendees know of ingredients in the major food allergy groups – peanuts, wheat and other glutens, milk, soy, egg, corn, sugar, onions, garlic, black pepper, etc.
We will provide plates, bowls, plasticware and napkins. Plus we have leftover sodas from Bubonicon 55! As much as possible, there will be prizes of books & DVD movies for “best dish” and “this dish was pretty good, too”!
This is a Fun Event and should not be taken too seriously! Let’s have holiday merriment, and take it all the contest judging with a grain of salt…
+ Plus, we’ll screen various short films about the winter holidays from the various vaults of our members! (Special thanks to Jessica Coyle for MemoryStick tech support.) These will tend to be comedies, music videos, and silly bits.
+ Finally, the annual December issue of SithFacts will be available. Submissions are needed by 6:00 pm Sunday, December 8 (email Craig C). Contributions are welcome and needed!
Alcoholic beverages are not allowed! Water/soda bottles and lidded beverage cups are permitted.
— Volunteers for set-up & clean-up are welcome! Contact Craig if you can help!
— Masks are Welcome, but not mandated. Remember the usual winter viruses are going around in addition to Covid…
Newcomers are welcome with a $1.00 contribution to help pay our rent…
DOORS OPEN AT 7:15 PM. Please do not arrive before this time. We have to set up the room ourselves, and straighten/clean-up at the end – around 9:50 pm. Use the north door (backside of church) as the Courtyard is locked up at 5 o’clock each day.
