It’s a 2-in-1 Month! Time for the Bubonicon 51 preview of the schedule and the t-shirts (with art from Greg Spalenka). Plus A Visit from an ABQ Author! The preview of Bubonicon 51 won’t take up our whole club time, so local author Reese Hogan (who has written for Fiction Vortex) will tell us about her new novel from Angry Robot, Shrouded Loyalties – a military sci-fi adventure.
Shrouded Loyalties is described as such: “Naval officer Mila Blackwood is determined to keep her country’s most powerful secret – shrouding, the ability to traverse their planet in seconds through an alternate realm – out of enemy hands. But spies are everywhere: her submarine has been infiltrated by a Dhavnak agent, and her teenage brother has been seduced by an enemy soldier. When Blackwood’s submarine is attacked by a monster, she and fellow sailor, Holland, are marked with special abilities, whose manifestations could end the war – but in whose favor? Remember, no outside food is allowed at St. Andrew. Please be discreet with any candy. Water/soda bottles and lidded beverage cups are permitted.
DOORS OPEN AT 7:15 PM. Please do not arrive before this time. We have to set up the room ourselves, and straighten/clean-up around 10:00 pm.
