Programming – Authors Lauren C. Teffeau and Sarena Ulibarri talk about their latest releases and do short readings!

Club Meeting starts at 7:30 pm, and ends about 9:50 pm…
♣ Albuquerque authors Lauren C. Teffeau and Sarena Ulibarri visit to discuss their latest works and upcoming projects – and to do short readings.  Both authors will have stories in the forthcoming Solar Flare anthology.

Teffeau was born and raised on the East Coast, educated in the South, employed in the Midwest, and now lives and dreams in the Southwest.  Her novel Implanted (Angry Robot) mashing up cyberpunk, solarpunk, adventure, and romance was a finalist for the 2019 Compton Crook award for best first SF/F/H novel and named a definitive work of climate fiction by grist.org.  Recent short stories can be found in Worlds of Light and Darkness: The Best of DreamForge and Space & Time Magazines (Uproar Books), Strange Religion: Speculative Fiction of Spirituality, Belief, and Practice (tdotspec), the Bram Stoker award-nominated Chromophobia: A Strangehouse Anthology by Women in Horror (Rooster Republic Press) and forthcoming in Fighting for the Future: Cyberpunk and Solarpunk Tales (Android Press) and Solar Flare, a solarpunk anthology from Zombies Need Brains.

Ulibarri is a speculative fiction author and editor from the American Southwest.  Her short fiction has appeared in Lightspeed, DreamForge, GigaNotoSaurus, Solarpunk Magazine, the forthcoming Solar Flare anthology, and elsewhere, and nonfiction essays have appeared in Strange Horizons and Grist.  A novella set in a Death Valley eco-village, Another Life, is forthcoming from Stelliform Press on May 28, 2023, and Android Press will publish Steel Tree, a science fiction retelling of The Nutcracker, in December 2023.  As an anthologist, she has curated several international volumes of optimistic climate fiction: Glass and Gardens: Solarpunk Summers (2018), Glass and Gardens: Solarpunk Winters (2020), and Multispecies Cities: Solarpunk Urban Futures (2021).

We are strongly encouraging the wearing of facial masks while inside the building since COVID has not gone completely away.

We will be in the Activity Room toward the back (north) end of the church.  Park in the back parking lot, and then enter through the North Door.

Newcomers are welcome with a $1.00 contribution to help pay our rent…

Remember, no outside food is allowed at St. Andrew.  Please be discreet with any candy.  Water/soda bottles and lidded beverage cups are permitted.

DOORS OPEN AT 7:15 PM.  Enter through the NORTH door of church and go to the Activity Room!  Please do not arrive before 7:15 pm.  We have to set up the room ourselves, and straighten/clean-up around 9:50 pm.
