2017 Author Festival at Albuquerque Museum
Albuquerque Museum Presents the second annual book event showcasing local writing talent
Saturday, November 11. The finest of the New Mexico writers’ scene will gather at the Albuquerque Museum to share their experiences and sign books for their fans. Whether you are a mystery addict, a hard-core sci-fi fan, or a history buff you’ll be amazed at the diversity of writers working across a range of genres, who call New Mexico home. Twenty-five authors from a variety of genres will share their experiences and books. Each author will have books available for purchase and signing.
Events include —
– 12:00 Noon Author Presentation: David Morrell, “On a Victorian Train No One Could Hear You Scream: My Victorian Mystery/Thrillers”
– 1:00 pm Panel Discussion: “Your Path from Writer to Author,” led by Joseph Badal, mystery/thriller author
– 3:00 pm Writing Contest Award Ceremony: For best unpublished works of Fiction and Non-Fiction featuring the David Morrell Prize for Fiction and Lesley Poling-Kempes Prize for Non-Fiction. Ceremony will include a reading of winning submissions by David Morrell and Lesley Poling-Kempes.
Of interest to Bubonicon and ASFS members are SF/Fantasy authors Rani Divine, Betsy James, Jane Lindskold, Rory McClannahan, and Robert E. Vardeman. Also on hand are mystery/thriller authors such as Steve Brewer, Steve Havill, Robert Kidera, David Morrell, Margaret Tessler, and Patricia Wood.
It all takes place 10:00 am-4:00 pm Saturday, November 11, at the Albuquerque Museum of Art & History, 2000 Mountain Road NW (located in Old Town). Admission is Free. The 2017 Author Festival is a collaboration to benefit participating artists and the educational programs at Albuquerque Museum.
