It still was successful, with good business in auctions and the art show for our 3rd time at the Albuq Marriott Uptown. People seemed to bring their “Sidekicks and Minions” to celebrate the theme and welcome Jack Campbell and Cherie Priest. We were also excited by special appearances by Stephen R. Donaldson and Ernest Cline!
ART SHOW had more than $9,000 total sales from 45 artists, and 40% of all artwork was sold!
GREEN SLIME AWARDS: Wretched winners included I, Frankenstein for film, Bermuda Tentacles for the SyFy Channel, Star-Crossed for broadcast TV, and Rebels: City of Indra: The Story of Lex & Livia by Kendall & Kylie Jenner for novel.

The Theme for Saturday, August 29, 2009, was Everything’s Better With Zombies! There was a Zombies in Cinema talk, a Popularity of Zombies panel discussion, Zombie makeup applications in the morning, the screening of a classic B&W Zombie movie in the evening, and several Zombie-related games in the Gaming Rooms.
Recommended 2009 Books: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith and Jane Austen – because everything really is better with zombies, even “classic” literature! And check out Book of the Dead: The Complete History of Zombie Cinema by Jamie Russell for essays and descriptions of various zombie films!
And on the Big Screen: Zombieland and Dead Snow!
