Programming – A Visit from Mars One finalist Zachary Gallegos
UNM Planetary Science grad student Zachary Gallegos will talk about his experience as one of the 100 finalists for the Mars One manned mission to the Red Planet. The 26-year-old was picked from more than 200,000 initial candidates. The non-profit group Mars One hopes to send crews of four to Mars every two years, starting as early as 2024 – on one-way trips to establish a permanent settlement.
Remember, no outside food is allowed at St. Andrew. Please be discreet with any candy. Water/soda bottles and lidded beverage cups are permitted (until we have a clean-up issue), and there is a water fountain in our meeting space.
Newcomers are welcome with a $1.00 contribution to help pay our rent…
DOORS OPEN AT 7:15 PM. Please do not arrive before this time. We have to set up the room ourselves, and straighten/clean-up at the end.
