MYTHCON 52 — JULY 29-AUGUST 1 in Albuquerque!

Yes, Mythcon 52 takes place July 29-August 1 at the 21st Century Public Academy, 4300 Cutler Ave NE (a local charter school) which is 1/4 mile from the Hampton Inn University/Midtown (convention hotel at 2300 Carlisle Blvd NE).

Special Guests are Author Guest of Honor Rivera Sun (Ari Ara series, The Dandelion Insurrection), Scholar Guest of Honor David Bratman (Tolkien scholar), and Student Paper winner Alexei Kondratiev.  The Theme for 2022 is “The Mythic, the Fantastic, and the Alien (Exploring the Other in fantasy and mythopoeic literature).”

In addition to panel discussions and presentation of papers, programming includes a Dungeons & Dragons game, a screening and discussion of Encanto, a Masquerade costume contest, a Bardic Circle, an Auction, and more.

Developed from input in a survey sent to members and approved by the Council of Stewards, the COVID Policy for Mythcon 52 participants that requires
* — Proof of Vaccination or Negative COVID Tests;
* — Masks that fully cover the mouth and nose worn indoors during all presentations and panels, unless actively eating or drinking. Speakers who are actively presenting may remove their masks.
* — Beyond these requirements, participants are encouraged to follow their own risk/comfort levels when choosing among events to attend.
