It’s a Big Comic Book Celebration!

Yes, Saturday, August 14, sees the return of the annual fannish event, Free Comic Book Day. Yes, it’s postponed from the 1st Saturday in May, but that’s a pandemic year for you!  Several stores throughout Albuquerque will be handing out free comic books and/or offering discounts on various comics, graphic novels, action figures and other materials.

For instance, we know that Astro-Zombies (Central Ave SE) starts their festivities at 10:00 am, including Sales on the Sidewalk and Inside.  In 2014, A-Z gave out approximately 10,000 free comics.  Over at Don’s Book Exchange (San Mateo SE), the store opens at 12:00 Noon with free comics and possibly markdowns of select merchandise.  Lobo Comics (Juan Tabo NE) should be open 11 am-7 pm with a sidewalk sale.  Red Planet Comics & Books (Park Ave SW) is having a Comic Book Day block party!  And Age of Comics over on Osuna NE will be participating, too.
