THE MADS RETURN TO VIRTUALLY RIFF “T- BIRD GANG”!

Mystery Science Theater 3000‘s Frank Conniff and Trace Beaulieu are “taking movie riffing back onstage” once again in a livestreamed event – this time 6:00 pm MT Tuesday, May 11.

The two, who starred as Dr. Clayton Forrester and TV’s Frank on MST3K, are riffing the 1959 teenage delinquents flick, T-Bird Gang, produced by Roger Corman!  This show will mark their 11th time performing together virtually during the 2020-2021 COVID-19 pandemic.  A Q&A session with special guest Mike Nelson (of MST3K and RiffTrax) follows the movie screening.

Past guests have included Victoria Price (daughter of horror legend Vincent Price), Jonah Ray (host of Mystery Science Theater 3000), Kevin Murphy (Mystery Science Theater 3000, RiffTrax), Dana Gould (The Simpsons, Stan Against Evil), Andy Kindler (Maron, Bob’s Burgers), J. Elvis Weinstein (writer for Mystery Science Theater 3000), Bill Corbett (Mystery Science Theater 3000, Rifftrax) Mary Jo Pehl (writer and performer on Mystery Science Theater 3000) and Rich Koz (host of MeTV’s Svengooglie).

This show will broadcast live via a private link that will be sent to ticket purchasers an hour prior to showtime.  A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Friends In Need Food Shelf in Minneapolis.

Viewers will be able to tune in from anywhere in the world. Anyone who purchases a ticket will gain access to re-watch the livestream and download it for personal viewing.

T-Bird Gang is a 1959 American B&W sci-fi film directed by Richard Harbinger and starring John Brinkley, Edwin Nelson, and Tony Miller.  Shot in 1958 under the title of Cry Out in Vengeance, it was released by executive producer Roger Corman as a double feature with High School Big Shot as the first release of his Filmgroup company.  Corman financed the film.  A high school student, working with local law enforcement, goes undercover to infiltrate the teen-based T-Bird Gang. Fast cars and tough teens star in this “beat” generation classic.

Tickets for the May 11 livestreamed event are $10.00 plus a service fee.  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-mads-t-bird-gang-live-riffing.
