THE MADS ARE BACK FOR MORE WITH A “WALK”!

Mystery Science Theater 3000‘s Frank Conniff and Trace Beaulieu are “taking movie riffing back onstage in their new show” once again to be livestreamed – this time 6:00 pm MDT Tuesday, September 15.

The two, who starred as Dr. Clayton Forrester and TV’s Frank on MST3K, are riffing Walk the Dark Street (1956 action noir flick with Chuck Conners).  This show will mark their third time performing together this year, after The Mads’ 2020 tour dates were cancelled due to COVID-19.  A Q&A session follows the movie screening.

This show will broadcast live via a private link that will be sent to ticket purchasers an hour prior to showtime. A percentage of the proceeds from the event will benefit NAACP Empowerment Programs, who engage primarily in training, education, and advocacy at the national and local levels.

Viewers will be able to tune in from anywhere in the world. Anyone who purchases a ticket will gain access to re-watch the livestream and download it for personal viewing.

In Walk The Dark Street, a platoon leader returns from the Korean War and seeks out the brother of a soldier who had been killed while under his command. The men agree to engage in competition to “hunt” each other through the streets of Los Angeles using camera-guns. The platoon leader does not realize that the brother blames him for the soldier’s death, and intends to kill him.  Basically, The Most Dangerous Game is played out on the streets of L.A.

Tickets for the September 15 livestreamed event are $10.00 plus a service fee.  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-mads-walk-the-dark-stree-live-riffing-show.
