THIS CLUB MEETING HAS BEEN CANCELED due to health concerns of our guest speaker and some of our regular attendees. We will try to reschedule puppeteer Michael McCormick for June, depending on how the Coronavirus situation evolves…
Programming (One Week Later Than Normal) – ♣ Local puppeteer Michael McCormick, and his son Sean, visit to talk about Michael’s Muppet & Puppet Experiences. Albuquerque’s McCormick was a designer and puppeteer hired by artist Brian Froud & Muppet creator Jim Henson to work on Henson’s 1982 fantasy film, The Dark Crystal. From there, he also was involved in The Return of the Jedi, the 3rd Star Wars film, released in 1983; and in Henson’s 1986 musical fantasy, Labyrinth, with David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. McCormick also has made and performed with his own puppets.
This talk for ASFS is in association with the Jim Henson Exhibition, which runs at the ABQ Museum through Sunday, April 19 – ABQ Museum/Henson
