Andy Weir Talks & Signs Books at the Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe

Science fiction writer Andy Weir, author of The Martian – now a major motion picture with Matt Damon – will be in Santa Fe 7:00 pm Monday, October 19, to talk about and sign copies of his Mars-survival novel. He lives in northern California and does not fly on airplanes, so this visit is a special event.

The Martian is described as such: “Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he’s sure he’ll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?”

The event starts 7:00 pm Monday, October 19.  Admission is free with the purchase of a book or $10.00 without a book purchase. After the interview and book signing, The Martian will screen 9:30 pm at the Violet Crown. Don’t miss this special chance to meet Weir, get your book signed, and see the hit film!

The Jean Cocteau Cinema is located at 418 Montezuma Avenue, north end of the Rail Yard District, in Santa Fe. For more info: 505-466-5528 or JeanCocteauCinema.com.
