Show Us Your Art!

Bubonicon 42’s Art Show is open to Professionals, Amateurs and Youths in grades K-12. We charge a small registration fee per person (waived if you attend the con, so consider joining us), and then a minimal hanging fee per piece. Since we charge by the piece, we don’t sell panel space!

All mailed-in artwork must be received by Thursday, August 26, 2010 (the day before the con begins). Artwork to be submitted in person will be accepted at the Albuquerque Grand Airport Hotel beginning at 3:30 pm Friday, August 27.

FORMS ARE NOW AVAILABLE: All 2010 rules, forms and bid sheets/labels are now posted in PDF formats. And this year you can fill out your forms electronically - and have the relevant data automatically copied to the appropriate bid sheets/labels!

WE WILL ACCEPT Mail-In Art Entries (including all paperwork & fees) starting July 1, 2010. And, again, mail-in works must be received by August 26. Please do not mail us any artwork & paperwork prior to July! Thanks! And, one more time, everything should come together - in one big, happy package…

We also encourage Bubonicon Artists to imagine Galactic Hitchhiking Rats in their Art Show pieces! After all, 42 is the answer of “Life, the Universe and Everything,” as we all know. All questions about the Bubonicon 42 Art Show should be directed to Roslee.

Artist PDF files for download:

• Entry Information – Find out how to enter your artwork and the Art Show rules
• Registration Form – You’ll need to fill this out to enter (how to contact you, fees paid, etc)
• Displayed Art Control Sheet/Labels – Needed to track all of your Displayed Pieces (original art, not prints). This file includes the bid labels - automatically filled out when you do the Control Sheet electronically!
• Print Shop Control Sheet/Labels – Needed to record bidder and sale information for all of your Prints. Again, the file includes the print labels, which are automatically filled out when you do the Control Sheet electronically.
• Artist Payout Summary – Fill out top portion and put in how many Displayed Pieces and Prints you’ve entered. We use this sheet to compute your total sales/payout.

Buyer Guidelines:

• Ah, the mysterious nature of “Quick Sale” versus Bidding. All people wanting to bid on artwork must obtain a bidder number from the Art Show Staff. If there is already a bid on a piece, you may not buy the piece for the Quick Sale price.
• Bubonicon does not have a voice auction. The last bid at closing on Sunday gets the piece.
• 2010 Art Show Hours:  5:00-9:00 pm Friday, 9:30 am-7:00 pm Saturday, 10:00 am-Noon Sunday. Again, the highest bid on piece at closing Noon Sunday gets the piece! Bid high, bid often. Or be fast to purchase a piece for the Quick Sale Price before anyone else…
