Science Fiction author Melinda Snodgrass; and Fantasy authors Jeffe Kennedy and Gabi Stevens will be celebrating the release of The High Ground: Imperials Book 1, The Pages of the Mind: The Uncharted Realms Book 1, and The Stone Key, respectively, with a chat and signing Saturday, July 23!

In Snodgrass’ space opera novel, “Emperor’s daughter Mercedes is the first woman ever admitted to the High Ground, the elite training academy of the Solar League’s Star Command, and she must graduate if she is to have any hope of taking the throne. Her classmate Tracy has more modest goals–to rise to the rank of captain, and win fame and honor. But a civil war is coming and the political machinations of those who yearn for power threatens the young cadets. In a time of intrigue and alien invasion, they will be tested as they never thought possible.”

Kennedy’s 1st Uncharted Realms novel finds that, “Magic has broken free over the Twelve Kingdoms. The population is beset by shapeshifters and portents, landscapes that migrate, uncanny allies who are not quite human…and enemies eager to take advantage of the chaos. Dafne Mailloux is no adventurer – she’s a librarian. But the High Queen trusts Dafne’s ability with languages, her way of winnowing the useful facts from a dusty scroll, and even more important, the subtlety and guile that three decades under the thumb of a tyrant taught her. Dafne never thought to need those skills again. But she accepts her duty. Until her journey drops her into the arms of a barbarian king.”

And in Stevens’ fantasy novel, “Sworn to protect a powerful artifact, Arden of Throckmorton is reluctant to carry out her duty until the relic sends her nearly eight hundred years into the future. Her only way home is to find it. Modern England is no place for a medieval maid. Hawkins Arlington is a prominent medievalist and just the man to help her, once he gets over the whole time travel and magic nonsense. Besides, the chance to study a real medieval woman is too brilliant to pass up. But when a villain from the past appears, Arden and Hawk race to find the artifact first, risking their lives, their homes and their reputations.”

Both Snodgrass and Kennedy live in Santa Fe.  Snodgrass is a Wild Cards editor and contributor, and worked on Star Trek: The Next Generation for two seasons.  Kennedy, who penned three Twelve Kingdom fantasy novels, also writes romance and erotica fiction.  Stevens, an award-winning author, lives in Albuquerque with her robotics engineer husband; and she’s appeared on Family Feud and Jeopardy.

Come join Jones, Kennedy & Stevens 4:00 pm Saturday, July 23, at Page One Books, 5850 Eubank Blvd NE #B-41 in the Mountain Run Shopping Center (southeast corner of Eubank & Juan Tabo).
