Firefly’s Jane Espenson & Brad Bell Talk

Jane Espenson, writer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly, and savvy writer/producer Brad Bell will host a conversation with scholars and educators about Husbands, their webseries show on Wednesday, February 13.

The evening also will cover the show’s agenda, its transmedia narrative strategies and production, and its outreach potential. The evening will be moderated by Dr. Anne Jamison (University of Utah), with whom Espenson and Bell collaborated on an outreach project to benefit LGBTQ homeless youth in Salt Lake City. The discussion will also feature a screening of a half-hour story from the series, footage from the Salt Lake City event, and clips of students engaging Husbands in the critical theory classroom.

Espenson and Bell appear 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 13, in Grand Pavilion IV of the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque, 330 Tijeras Ave NW. The evening is presented by the Southwest/Texas Popular & American Culture Association.
