Actor Vincent D’Onofrio Talks After “The Whole Wide World” Screening at the Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe

Actor Vincent D’Onofrio will be in Santa Fe on October 15 to converse with George RR Martin in a Q&A session after a screening of the genre-oriented film, The Whole Wide World.

About the Film:  Driven by the electrifying performances of Vincent D’Onofrio and Renée Zellweger, The Whole Wide World is the touching true story of the star-crossed love between writer Robert E. Howard and schoolteacher Novalyne Price. The creator of Conan the Barbarian and Red Sonja, Howard was a small-town writer with an insatiable appetite for larger-than-life heroism and fantasy. Shunned by the prudish locals, he was befriended by a feisty young teacher who offered him an unforgettable chance at love.  1996, rated PG, 106 minutes.

About Vincent D’Onofrio:  Though he established his career in the 1980s and 1990s with numerous film roles, actor Vincent D’Onofrio became a household name due to his nine-season run as the intelligent, but imposing Detective Robert Goren on the long-running drama, Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC, 2001-2011 ). Prior to the acclaim and stardom he received from his television role, D’Onofrio made a quick jump from unknown actor to breakout star as a mentally unstable and put-upon Marine cadet in Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket (1987) and as a struggling Hollywood scribe who becomes a homicide victim by the hand of a studio executive in Robert Altman’s excellent satire, The Player (1992). D’Onofrio has firmly established himself as one of the finest character actors working in Hollywood.

The event starts at 4:30 pm Sunday, October 15 (doors open at 4:00 pm).  Admission cost is FREE, but you should reserve a ticket at the Jean Cocteau Box Office.  It’s free, so buy a drink and/or some books!
