Special Premiere Screening of STARZ’ “American Gods” at the Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe

The Jean Cocteau Cinema is hosting a special premiere of “American Gods” Episode 1, based on Neil Gaiman’s best-selling novel, on Friday, April 28.

American Gods is the story of Shadow—released from prison just days after his wife and best friend are killed in an accident—who gets recruited to be bodyguard, driver, and errand boy for the enigmatic trickster, Mr. Wednesday. So begins Shadow’s dark and strange road trip, one that introduces him to a host of eccentric characters whose fates are mysteriously intertwined with his own. For, beneath the placid surface of everyday life, a storm is brewing—an epic war for the very soul of America—and Shadow is standing squarely in its path.

The Jean Cocteau Cinema will have a Costume Contest for best Gaiman costume, either as a character or the writer himself.  All contestants get a Faceless Man coin.  The Winner gets either a signed copy of the 20th anniversary edition of A Game of Thrones or a $50 Gift Card.

The event starts at 7:50 pm Friday, April 28.  Admission cost is FREE – but tickets must be acquired at the Box Office only!  You also may make reservations…

The Jean Cocteau Cinema is located at 418 Montezuma Avenue, north end of the Rail Yard District, in Santa Fe. For more info: 505-466-5528 or JeanCocteauCinema.com.
