Event takes place at Eastern NM University in Portales, NM.  Special Guests are Melinda M. Snodgrass of Santa Fe and Michael Cassutt of California; joined by Mistress of Ceremonies Connie Willis of Colorado. Also expected to attend are Courtney & Cordelia Willis, Darynda Jones, Walter Jon Williams, Joan Saberhagen and other NM authors.

The 2017 Theme is Reimagining the Superhero – Celebrating 30 Years of Wild Cards.”  Wild Cards is a series of shared universe anthologies by some of the best writers in science fiction, edited by George R.R. Martin and Melinda Snodgrass. First released in 1987, the series published its 23rd volume in 2016. Adapted to role-playing games and comics, the Wild Cards series is now slated for television by Universal Cable Production (UCP), executive producer Melinda Snodgrass, with SyFy Films’ Gregory Noveck.

Festivities Friday, April 7, include reading by Snodgrass & Cassutt 10:00-11:00 am Friday, a ticketed luncheon at 11:30 am, an “ice cream break,” and panel discussions 3:00-6:15 pm in the Jack Williamson Liberal Arts Building.

* APRIL 7 LUNCHEON: 11:30 am in the Campus Union Ballroom (2nd floor) at ENMU. Cost is $10.00, payable at the door. Reservations are required by Monday, April 3! At 3:00 pm Thursday, April 6, Cordelia Willis will give a forensic science talk.  Location TBA.

And 10:00 am-12 Noon Saturday, April 8, Connie Willis should be giving a talk to college students on writing, while the Film Department should be having a short film screening.  Details to be announced.
